The idea behind the story is neat and interesting but it dragged a little for me as they try to find ways to involve you in Steve Catson and Manfried’s lives.

Not over YEARS, mind you, but it got into minutia territory that I don’t think it needed to. It’s divided into four parts with each chronicling a pretty lengthy chunk of Steve’s time. The book is fun but honestly felt a bit long to me. They’re capable of saying “HEY!” pretty much and that’s more or less it. Manfried, and other men pets, are just little people who live happy, carefree lives as domestic house men where they’re fed, loved, and pampered. I relate to this but like, as a person to cat type relationship. Steve is the proud owner of Manfried… the Man who is his best friend and love of his life. He works a 9-5 office job and dreams of pursuing his creative passions. For instance, our lead character is a guy (err cat) named Steve Carson. It’s a great gift for comics fans, pet owners, cat lovers, or anyone who appreciates a story full of humor and adventure, with a sweet friendship at its heart. The story of Manfried the Man turns the internet’s love of cats on its head by reimagining the world with cats as people and people as the cats. Can a cat who can’t even clean up his own apartment manage to find his missing man before it’s too late? In an all-new series based on the wildly-popular tumblr webcomic, classic comic strip layouts and colorful cartoon art make this a fun read. But when Steve’s carelessness results in Manfried getting lost, Steve has no choice but to muster his meager resources to bring his best friend home safe. Stuck in a dead-end job and bemoaning a nonexistent love life, Steve depends on his pet man for friendship and support.

Meet Manfried, a stray man taken in by the likable but introverted tomcat Steve Catson. Manfried the Man was named one of the Best Comics of 2018 by A.V. In this hilarious graphic novel, the roles of cats and humans are reversed, putting humanoid felines in charge of tiny, dimwitted little man-pets.
